General Description

From the late 1800s to the early 1930s, a type of boat called the saloon or salon boat was constructed in the north and west of the Netherlands. Saloon boats had special characteristics, including a very shallow draft, a slender, elegant hull and a beautifully appointed teak and mahogany cabin. The interior of each boat was custom-built according to the wishes of her future owner.
