I was born in Toledo, Ohio. Boating and fishing on the Great Lakes was a big part of my formative years that continues to this day. In 1982 I moved to Florida to be Vice President and partner of a company supplying windshields and canvas to boat manufacturers in the southeastern U.S. That experience gave me great insight and knowledge of the marine industry.
For the past 18 years I have sold new and used boats, the last 12 years I owned and operated a boat brokerage business in northern Michigan.
